Also valid with respect to "Teh Trans as Testbed . . .
If we can acknowledge our transformed bodies as “constructed” and in that acknowledgement, recognize that this bodily “construction” has somehow facilitated the reintegration of the individual self as a psychologically and emotionally whole being, must that acknowledgement then be confined to the myopic strictures of a gender binary? Can that sense of self exist and in fact thrive outside the confines of the gender binary? That sense of self is experienced by some as neither male nor female gendered but is “whole”. In that “wholeness,” can life is seen (perhaps for the first time) as pregnant with possibilities?
For the Transgender, does this reintegration (if it occurs at all) ultimately await the alignment of physical body and spiritual self? If so, then in it's wake, why does rejecting the binary entirely present as so psychologically attractive and viable a choice?
Does it demand the agency of medical intervention? Can it occur, absent the intervention of medical science, when one definitively transits the gender event horizon or, rejecting gender entirely, adopts a genderqueer presentation . . . and never looks back?
These are the honest and increasingly unfettered speculations of one who has begun to question the dogma in earnest . . .
